Good news is that I'm working again. While I was out of a job, I converted from H1 to EAD under my previous employer (consultancy).
Now, I've finally found a job although this is a full time opportunity. I'm going to be using my EAD / AC21 .
Question: Since I'm no longer working for my previous employer, they are going to be revoking my I140 next month. I believe this is not a problem since my case has been pending for more than 180 days so that's a good thing.. What I do want to know is whether my status is in any jeopardy since I haven't generated any income for about 3 months?

I agree, I think you can recieve incentives, but you cannot work (as an employee) for a corporation other than the H1B sponsor. In any case, as long as you report all of your income you are fine. I do'nt think IRS checks your status to validate your income.
H1-B folks are permitted to have sources of passive income from entities other than their H1 sponsor. This includes bank interests, stock dividends, profits from stock transactions etc. Most of these incomes are taxable and reported to the IRS on 1099-INT or 1099-DIV forms. When you open a bank account and get a bonus of, say $200, it is considered as interest earned.
The vital point to remember, I guess, is that H1s are NOT allowed to generate an income from any source (other that H1 sponsor) that needs any tangible work to be done- investments do not count as tangible work.

One time IO entered my visa type wrongly. Instead of L1-b he wrote H1-b on the I-94. I pointed out his mistake saying "My visa is L1-b. Shouldn't that be L1-b on I-94". He asked me "what visa are you in?". I repeated L1-b. He was angry and said in a raised voice "You should know what visa are you in. You should know". First place he didn't ask me what visa I was in and he made the mistake and jumped on me.
Baseline is IO can make mistakes but we are the one to be affected by that. So make sure your visa type, EAC #, and all other info on I-94 are correct before leaving the counter at POE.

I don't know where there is thread regarding this but this quite a serious matter, we should up the ante. They are sending millions of faxes to all Senators with this false information and guess who the Senators will believe. Can we sen counter faxes but will get lost in their faxes, maybe need to call them. Lets not forget this issue while waiting for the bulletin.

Thank you for your reply! He has been out for 9 months now but visited in between. He used H4 to come back and did not get new AP. We did file taxes. How do I know if the application is still valid and it's okay to use EAD?

I ported from EB3 to EB2 recently and if its all goes well, my PD of May 06 might be current. Is there any way one can determine if their finger prints, photographs, security checks, etc., are valid and the application is pre-adjudicated and ready for approval.
Since, I ported recently I didn't notice any LUD's in my I-485 application. Any thoughts. Please share your experiences.

The point to note is this: When you apply for extension, you send your current i-94 copy. After sending the application in, when you travel, you get new i-94 and a new stamp in your passport. After you come back, you get your extension approved. Say you go to get your visa stamped based on your extension approval: if the consular is an astute observer, the fact that you travelled while your petition is pending will become obvious, which may lead to problems. USCIS assumes that you would not be travelling but doesn't USUALLY pause to check it with you. That is the job for the consulars who give you the stamp or those at the port of entry. Most probably, you might be asked to give copies of all the past i-94. In the case of ASHISMAITY it would be interesting to know whether that person got the stamp updated. I read SKIL bill and it refers to "Exempts U.S.-educated professionals with advanced degrees". I Do not see why an online master degree does not fit in here. Maybe I am missing something :)

It depends on what is being asked for. Try to tell your employer that you might need an EVL (Employer Verification letter) that basically puts your start date, responsibilities and has HR Contact information.
Make sure you keep the paystubs of your previous employer through the 180 days of your 485 app pending. Get a releiving letter and try to be on good terms with your ex. It helps.

At what stage of the green card process should I be in to be eligible for my H1 to be extended after my 6th year?
Refile as what lawyer says, get new H1. That will give you some breathing room. If you see that current financial problem may jeopardize the new GC process as well, then you should switch over.
I assume this lawyer is hired by the company. So he will never advise you to make a move. It is you who have to look at all the options and see if it makes sense.

The original language that was in CIR would exempt from the quota STEM graduates who have worked for 3 years, under the F 4 provision. More importantly, it allows for self petitioning and adjustment of status following a $2000 fee. If this amendment passes, all that would be gone, and simply replaced with the exemption that was already in the original bill. Again I'm puzzled: why are we supporting this amendment?
I think you are getting slightly confused here. The thing under discussion in this thread has always existed as a clause in the bill and is nothing new. The F4 is a separate provision which was struck down today. The 3 year for STEM provision still exists separate. Please have a look at the details of the bill. It should be available somewhere on this website.

My appointment date was Apr 02 and they received my documents on March 30th. I kept calling the ph # given on their website after nth try , I was able to talk to one lady on 15 th april, she said it has been only 4 working days for embassy since they received my application, and it will take couple weeks more to get my passport renewed, if it does not require additional processing.

SDL is rarely used by itself. Just use it for windowing and let OpenGL render (it's much faster). Also you'll notice that SDL can't rotate an image (or it couldn't 2 years ago). There are free OpenGL GUI's like CEGUI if you need one. I'd learn how to get the basic stuff.
Make sure you know the STL completely. This means, std::vector, std::list, and std::map kind of stuff. I'd recommend learning the OOP paradigm since it helps a lot.
