I have been looking at opportunities elsewhere. However, in my field (not IT related), US is still a very good destination and my skills are also in demand in US and elsewhere. My home country, however, still lacks the basic infrastructure needed for me consider that as an option.
Nonetheless, as I said, if things don't improve by 2009, 2010 then I will be forced to consider other options such as australia/europe/canada. But I dont think I agree to "Quit America" just to prove a point. I will do what I think is best for my career and future; as the congress must do what they think is best for America's future. If given the chance, I will contribute to the continued success of this nation... else will move where my skills are in demand.
Meanwhile, get invoved in state chapters to convince congressmen about our plight, and let them decide about the country's future.

If anybody that is useless on the great America Land, it is a self proclaimed fake-nationalist person like Mr. Dobbs. He not only is conveying a wrong information but also hurting the nation with his misdirections... How can a person, who spends hours of time driving to and from work every day, even have a time to gather real statistics??

We all had a good time so far in US compared to the freshers .
It seems like any change in the immigration system is only going to land us in a worst position than we are in....
And looking at what is happening, I think it is naive to think we can influence the system to make it better for us.
Any noise we make seems to be making our opponents solidify and press us even harder.
I know this is not an upbeat comment that every IV member seem to expect, but this has been a depressing week, in an already depressing decade. :(

Most EB3 applicants are NOT underpaid or under qualified. Infact they are OVERQUALIFIED as they should have been EB2 first place. JOB requirements and employers force them to be EB3, not their qualifications

Yes...The REAL POWER of this organization will lie in its state chapters..
I called local Senator & his office was sympathetic towords problems of "Legal" immigration & stagnation of GC process for India & China..
Look in diffrent angle, instead of calling Senators office, if bunch of 10 state chapter guys visit local senators office, it will carru lot of weight...
By the way, any local chapter for Ohio? Is it in - Cincinati, Cleveland or Columbus?

how long after the soft LUDs did you get the hard LUD (RFE)?
And what was the RFE for?
I had a soft LUD on 3/19/09.

Same here. Applied for AP. Got a soft LUD on my I-485 on Mar 25, 2009, got my AP approved on Mar 26, 2009. Does this mean they checked my 485 application prior approving my AP? or are they pre-adjucating my application? Will wait for a week or 2 to see if i receive any RFEs.
My PD is EB-3 I, Mar 2004 and no way closer to being current.

Another intresting update...
I just checked the USCIS website and found out that the approved H1 which has been reopened has a Last Updated date of 09/30/2007....
09/30/2007 was a Sunday...why is USCIS working on the case on Sunday ???

Any updates?
I checked my former approved H1Bs and found:
1) The Sept. 2000 approved H1B with LUD of June 2007
2) The Feb.2003 approved H1B with LUD 0f April 2006
For both cases, it seems the status is the same as when it was approved in Sept. 2000 and Feb. 2003, nothing new. Maybe these are automatic updates by the computer system.

I have read my post couple of times before posting to avoid any mis-communication...but it's never possible to prevent I believe:)
I have a recurring contributions setup and also contributed what ever I could this holidays...probably will contribute more before the end of the season. My post is not about the Monthly contributions made by you, me or many others...who signed up.
It's about the ones' who cannot for what ever the reason may be....you and me pointing to the salaries or house-hold incomes will not help them join the wagon.
It's about increasing the donations irrespective of people joining the monthly-contributions scheme....Other viable options...may be having a IV donation boxes...in immigrant owned businesses....etc.
In an ideal world as you mentioned atleast 20000 of 25000 will contribute monthly....It's defintely good to aim for that....but that's not realistic.

2) Some states give driving licenses that is valid until the EAD expiry or H1-B I-94 expiry. With H1-B, your hassle of DL renewal is reduced to one third of EAD based.

DMV in different states treats immigrants differently. No uniform policy. Interestingly I was discussing this with a friend of mine and he took his EAD/AP to the DMV and was expecting to get the DL valid for the period of EAD, but the officer insisted he get the I485 receipt and gave the validity like every body else because he is in AOS(I guess 5 years). That was a pleasant surprise for him.

Based on my research I found out that net assets for an S corporation can be found on Schedule L on 1120S. Net assets=[sum of lines (1d-5d)] minus [sum of lines (16d-18d)].
If net assets+existing wage>proffered wage, the company has ability to pay.

But I am still worried about the previous americandesi post about requiring Audited Financial statements to show net assets. I don't think my company will spare the time and money to prepare audited financials.

The best way to respond this kind of people is to ignore them....
If you are successful, certain people will complain and make up stories how you became successful.
If you fail, the same people will makeup stories how dumb you are etc...
The best way, in my opinion, is to ignore these fools.
Those who are writing negative about IV and their leaders, do not have slightest idea on how much sacrifices they have made (family time, financially, physically, mentally etc) so that most of us could be benefited out of it. If these people think they are not benefited or does not like the idea, please don't read those post or just ignore them and move on, go to the posts that you would be benefited from and logout, I personally would like these people to share their experience and answer questions by others with their best of their knowledge, but if you can’t do that, please don't demoralize others.
And yes, I don't care about RED dots, so bring them on.

I just looked at my old cases(H1Bs-I-129) and i see LUDs on them too!!! This is so weird.
These are from my last company!
LUD on 05/06/2006 - Approved on October 11, 2003
LUD on 10/21/2007 - Approved on March 19, 2002
I see LUDs but no difference in the status. They both say approval notice sent.
whats your PD and 485-RD? Maybe your case is close to approval and they are just looking up older H1s
