I can't play more than 1 song before it crashes. I went ahead and appzapped the friggin program and started with a totally fresh install and I'm having the same problem. It plays 1 song and then crashes.

Another thing I noticed is that it misreports song length by a few seconds. It's reporting them too short. It plays out until the end and then backs up a second or two, then crashes.

    Anyone else?

    iTunes 7
    10.4.7
    PB 12"

Dude, I am having the same problem. This is getting me real frustrated. I repaired permissions, found all this crap wrong with iTunes, then restarted. Same thing! I don't know what to do, but this is not a good update for me.

Bad day for Apple. Worse day for Sony. Seriously though, Sony just needs to realize that hot electronics are not good. Playstation 2's have always had problems overheating and now Sony's laptop batteries are blowing up. And think, the new Sony Playstation 3s have a souped up G5 (Cell) chip in them. You should be able to barbecue on those things! It plays games, blu-ray disks and cooks your breakfast!

Radio Shack sucks. Anyone who tried to get an iPhone 4 from them can attest to this.

In other words, what we saw tonight was nowhere near the final form of the application.

This statement has me a bit puzzled. FCP is supposed to be out in around 2 months. Are they going to rush the rest into FCP in this amount of time, or get the basics in there, then drag onto multiple updates?

I think it's simpler than that - Apple wasn't ready to tip their full hand, just whet everyone's appetite.

Hence us seeing an older, less complete build while the final version is still being polished.

And I have no doubt their will be some quick post-release updates - that's the way of life for complicated applications and it has been for quite a while now. The applications are complex, the underlying operating systems are complex, and how they interact with other applications and utilities installed on the system are also incredibly complex. If you have a low tolerance for stability, wait a least a year before switching to it for production work. That's not a symptom of Apple being sloppy, it's a matter of pragmatic risk management.

For those who are expressing outrage that perfect and bug-free applications aren't being delivered - you couldn't afford them. While it can be done, it can't be done for consumer (or even "Pro") level pricing.

I'm pretty sure that Flash wouldn't even work on an iPhone. It uses 100% CPU on my MBP and video still lags!

This is probably the reason that Apple doesn't even want to let Adobe make Flash, because they know they would fsck it up somehow.

And, since iPhones overheat, CPU usage at 100% for any length of time could cause the battery to explode!

Again, you can compare charging decisions and convictions among the various races in a city like London, but there is no way to compare the propensity of a race to commit crimes. How do you know what those numbers are other than to look at who was charged and/or convicted of crimes?

That's the problem. There's no way I'm having a white laptop.

My friend calls them toilet seats. But he has a white one too. Trust me, Apple screwed up with the black finish. It's stupid matte paint that absorbs grease marks, and *does* peel off. I had both issues.

Your only other option then is a MacBook Pro. Worth it IMO, but you might not want to pay the premium.

I think that is Not the new MBP day, 'cause they should change the MAC page on apple site too, but instead, this page it's always showing the old MBP.

    I think it's only the iPad pre-order day. :(

Shouldn't the Conroe CPUs run at higher frequencies than the CPUs used in the iMacs?

Yup. PC's will be running faster, cheaper and slightly more powerful (per clock) chips.

If you think of it that way then Ringo's I've Got Blisters... (http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/ive-got-blisters/id52046?i=52042) and The End (http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/the-end/id52046?i=52044) are also free. And worth every penny!

Hi Doctor Q- The "I've got blisters on my fingers" is part of "Helter Skelter," and only heard at the end of the STEREO version, and not a separate song. Also, "The End" is over 2 minutes. The part you are referring to is probably the part at the end of the song... "and in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.." However, the song has the long guitar solos before getting to that part, and the intro is part of "The End."j

After that, I think Maggie Mae is like 40 seconds.

Best Buy in Cambridge, MA didn't have any stock. The Apple store in the same mall did (as usual) but was mostly sold out when I got there 1/2 hour after opening. Still had a few 64 GB models, but that's it.

I like the hardware buttons on the classic because I can press them through my pocket when I am working. When I gave my classic to my sister and used my touch while I was working, it was a pain to have to pull it out of my pocket to change the song or play/pause. I liked the easy volume change buttons on the touch though. But still the touch buttons are too close together and half the tie I restart the song instead of pausing it.

Hmmm...... If you look closely at the banner photo you'll see the "64-bit" logo is awfully close to the photo of the iMac. The current Intel iMacs are not 64-bit since the Core Duo (1) processers are 32-bit. Could this mean that the iMacs are going to get the new Core Duo 2 processers, which just happen to be 64-bit.

Same goes for the MacBook Pros

I doubt it since this is the World Wide DEVELOPERS Conference...I wouldnt classify an imac as a developmental machine.

Also, the way I read this it seems like they're using a version from February at these demos. (Which makes sense that they wouldn't show off the absolute current version. Someone's probably been working on this presentation for awhile.) So what they showed really could be a version that has literally 4 or 5 more months of work going into it.

Don't forget that the feb version was probably an even earlier version to make sure that it all works seamlessly so we could be looking at a version that is early 2011 at the latest.

From all the tidbits of information flowing in I am getting very excited about this update and have already seen many hours that would have been saved if I had had the new version on previous projects I've done this year! It just keeps on getting better!

So 9to5's retraction is because a bunch of you guys were giving him fraudulent tips?

That's shameful, I thought we were better than that.

I was just coming on to see what was up with that. Did someone from here really send in a tip? What good does that do? Its not like Apple is going to go on MacRumors and say "Well there is a rumor we are going to release, lets just do it".....Stupid!

If the black thing in the picture is the Intel Core Duo 2 and previous reports say that the new PowerMacs will be using a Xeon processor then Apple would have to announce something else, maybe Core Duo 2 MacBook Pros or iMacs. But that is only if the previous reports are true.....

I am very impressed with Apple on this one.
The only things that bugs me (probably because I bought a Mac Pro) is that the iMacs come standard with 1GB and a comparable card.

I didn't even notice the 1GB standard RAM until you mentioned it... I hope this ushers in a change for the other pro models...

Perhaps Mac Pros don't come standard with 1GB RAM because they are supposed to be super configurable, and Apple assumes more RAM will be added anyway?

Sometime I wonder if people actually use the products they talk about here.

The Rolling Stones have been in the iTunes music store for over a year. The currently have over 59 albums there and a new ep was released, I'm Free, just a couple of weeks ago.

Frank Zappa was on iTunes last summer and has since been removed. It was basically the albums that RYKODisc had re-mastered and released. There appears to be something going on with the Zappa Family Trust and RYKODisc over the rights.

Led Zepplin has never appeared on iTunes. However, Radio Head was on for a short time, but everyone who like Radio Head has already bought their one good album, The Bends.

Strange. I could have sworn I'd heard the Rolling Stones weren't on iTunes yet. Personally I HATE them, that's why I never checked.

Any other musicians not in the iTunes music store yet?
