Congrats, that was probably the most racist thing I've ever seen here in PRSI.
It's a joke, why is it racist? It's satirical, meant to highlight the lack of positive role models, that's why I used Aunt Jemima, the pancake lady, and Uncle Ben, he of the famous rice producing dynasty.
If that offended you you need to grow a bladder.

Then how do you turn it off? If it's a feature I should have the option to change it back to how it was. It's pretty annoying and I'm surprised no one else is complaining about it. I understand how some people might like it, but you would think there would be the option to decide which one you want. Similar to changing the rotation lock on the iPad to mute, some liked it and some didn't
This is almost the exact post I wrote yesterday on the last 4.3 update thread. It is driving ne nuts. And I'm sure I was able to distinguish between texts and emails before. I'm filing it under bug too.

Well, don't put back your camera just yet. If I recall it correct, you never set any time limit when you made your bold statement about Conroe in iMac. My guess is that Conroe eventually will arrive in iMacs...and when it does... we do (sort of) look forward to your promised homemovie. :D
Technicalities. :D
I did blow it with saying that Wodcrests would not go into MP's, though. :(

If I go to the Australian Apple Store the delivery time for a Black MacBook is 3-5 days.
If I go to configure and upgrade it to 1Gb RAM the delivery time falls to 2-4 days!!!
Explain that to me all you rumo(u)r experts:confused:

This would be a cool feature for if you're watching 3D movies on your iPad, but otherwise, I dunno. It would probably hurt my eyes after a while.

Like the Nintendo 3DS, you can turn off the 3D. Still an impressive handheld game system nonetheless...
I checked out the 3DS at a Target and felt the 3D effect was cheesy. It reminded me of a magic eye effect, or a hologram baseball card. I did read about the "sweet spot", but that seems really tedious to have to keep a handheld at just the right angle at all times.

Apple is primarily an American company and they know that the news cycle will be heavy with Election Results. They can wait until next week and get more bang for the same buck. Europe (Australia, Asia, etc. ) will be just as happy with a Nov. 14 release as Nov. 7.
Im in Australia, and a Nov 14 release would **** me right off...I may need to try and get one delivered by Nov 18...lol.

I couldn't care less about touchy feely or iOS or whatever. If they do this, it better not raise the base price of an iMac! Better yet, make it available as an extra charge option for those who want it.

Poorly phrased comments lead to meaningless debate.
Comments about not wanting 3D in the ipad of course lead to the obvious response of those who disagree: "don't use it".
People expressing a desire that the ipad remain 3D free are probably hoping that 3D will be optional if it is added. I don't want 3D myself. But if others want 3D then I hope they get the option. But I do not want to pay extra for a feature I won't use. So if it comes to higher prices and I just "turn it off" then of course from my perspective I hope 3D is not implemented. But the better option would be the option of 3D and non-3D models.

what a shame that a company wants to get their products in the hands of the common folk. How dare they try to sell to anyone but the self-appointed elitist crowd?

I hope isight stays. Maybe on a smaller format.
I have mixed feelings about the built-in isight. For a desktop model I think I rather have the stand alone isight so i can easily move it around.

AMD is in a similar case right now. Many people are turning away from AMD to Intel simply because AMD sucks now. So AMD is trying to get their ass together to innovate further. Thus giving us faster and faster CPUs from both AMD or Intel. Competition is good. Apple needs to compete more aggressively.

Would this run on a maxed 13" air ok?
I have no real answer, but the general rule with these kinds of programs is that they pretty much run fine on any hardware by themselves. The question becomes "What level of media can they handle before they become unbearably slow?"
So not only do we not have specs, we STILL won't know the answer to your question until people start playing with it. I really thinnk the answer will be 'yes, up to a point.' But what that point is is something you'll have to wait and learn from other users. I suspect it will work, but to what extent I don't know.
(That said, the Air is never going to be anyone's dream machine for this kind of work. It's built for portability, not speed.)

I hope what this shows the PC makers is that it's not just a race to the bottom as far as price is concerned, but that people are willing to pay more for a device if it's built well and does a good job.
Stop worrying about shaving that extra dollar off the price and providing the rock-bottom rickety low-cost PC that will fall apart in a few months; instead, go ahead and invest in computers with longer battery life, better build quality, and other useful features -- consumers are willing to pay for it.

I'll help
You can guess where the money from that 3rd 30" went :D :apple:
I keep most of my books on it...hoping to get another monitor soon.
From the pictures I can conclude you traded a 30" monitor, your Canon 70-200mm, and the orange frog for an iPad. :p

From the iPod release thread; "All that hype for an MP3 player? Break-thru digital device? The Reality Distiortion Field is starting to warp Steve's mind if he thinks for one second that this thing is gonna take off."
Hah! Wow, all the angry comments of people who were so, so wrong.
Does this mean that people don't know what's good for them until its drummed into their heads for a while?

So you're saying it is race, but not because of racism, but because of genetics? If it's genetics then how does it explain the successful blacks like your president among countless others?
Well, it's just a theory. Scientists have recently identified a "warrior gene" that makes people more impulsive and violent. That gene is found in people of ALL races, and it's more commonly found in men than women. However, there may be a chance that this gene is more commonly found in people of African ancestry, of course there hasn't been an experiment done to test that quite yet. If that's the case, it explains a lot.
In the US there are far more white people with guns than blacks, and far more "anti-intellecutal" whites (c.f. the Tea Party) than blacks, and far more poor, uneducated white people committing crime than blacks.
Proof? Or did you just make that up? Also, this thread isn't just about the US, the trend is the same in every predominantly white country where blacks reside.
If you place white people (or any ethnicity for that matter) in the same sociopolitical/socioeconomic environment, the same crime problems result. Many rural areas in the American south or Appalachia that are almost exclusively white are every bit as poor, uneducated and crime-ridden as any urban black ghetto.
I'd rather live in a white trash trailer park than in a black ghetto.

Doesn't most of the internet use flash?
Not on mobile devices...
I would not feel so strongly about this if Adobe could write a stable, fast, less vulnerable version of flash for the Mac.
However as of today Adobe has shown they could give a rats ass about Apple and Flash is proof. It is buggy, it crashes a lot, even with hardware acceleration it is still a cpu hog and it seems every time I turn around another security exploit has been found.
Apple please keep Flash off of your iOS products and keep moving forward with html5.
