Have you talked to lawyers with arguments you have mentioned here? Do you think there is a strong legal ground for success? For all five "questions" you have asked, there is legal backing. Law sees legal grounds, not sentiments, which seem to be the prime content of what you have stated.

Hi I am applying advance parole for the first time, I am a july 2007 485 filer but never really cared to apply AP. Now I am planning to go to India in december what are my chances of getting my AP approved before that. Below are my case details:

Will CIS generate the Receipt notice first before transfering the application to the appropriate service center. ( like transfering the application from NSC -> TSC when the I-140 was approved at TSC but filed at NSC) .

Not entirely true, I switched job a couple of months ago - filed for AC21. I got an acknowledgment from USCIS for the same - stating that it will be added to my file, to be reviewed when my application is processed.
Then you are a special case to USCIS. In my whole "GC career", you are the first case I am hearing about having AC21 related notification from USCIS.
Chandu's comments are entirely truthful and your case is the special one as USCIS really does not have any sysem to account or to notify related with AC21 usage.

I don't think any analysis is done. That is only going to divide the community.
Some would say preference be given to EB category benefiting EB2(I&C).
Some would say PD should be given preference predominantly benefiting EB3(I).
If they follow the current spill-over rules, as you are aware, EB category would be given preference.

It's not surprising. The EB system is so slow that there is demand from spouses of H holders for H1 either before or after an MS. This is new demand that in earlier years did not exist due to people getting EADs fairly quickly. Also add to that the production of MS degrees by the universities locally and the growth of the economy in this decade. The demand for the H1 are only a symptom of clogged EB system.

Can parents stay here for 5 1/2 months go back for say a month or two and come back again for 5 1\2 months? Would this pattern be suspected during visa renewal?

It wont happen again. after encashing I485 checks USICS will start I140 PP again to keep cashing money. once I140 backlog will be done then they will earn from EAD renewals.

I "think" that we have had a good number of "new members" signing up for IV in the wake of recent events. And am sure that quite a number of the new members would have started contributing to their own "noble" cause.

So here come the thing. Thats why i asked in my original post is IV just for people who have applied for Green card ? I wanted to know if they could address these issues as well . Regarding inability to work and self esteem , just stay in home for few days and then feel how much you loose. Man , its 21st century and ability to work is basic right.

I understand that your problem is not the same as majority of the members here have. Thanks to IV on the VB fiasco. IV is not a share holder company that will give you results every Q. If you want accountability, you can find how the money is being spent. I guess some one posted it here very recently. Its publicly available on the net.

I guess they think every one else does the work than themselves) to push for H4's ability to work.
Oh wait a sec! While I have no issues with it, there will be a severe backlash on adding new workers. Again this is not my view. what you will get to hear if you go on the hill. Such provisions can be pushed when the economy is better and on a bigger vehicle such as CIR. In these times, just try not to get hit by Grassley & Durbin who will impose restrictions on the SC company you are working for. Imagine that!

It results in a loss of self esteem when you have the opportunity to work, but you become a couch potato eating cheese curls and watching who wants to be a millionaire. What will the numbers reveal? I had been a regular blogger at IV, but I stopped coming up here because.
1. All talk and no Walk
2. New members come aboard, are rude and offer no pragmatic approach.
3. All these bloggers give ideas and critique each other.
4. What happened to the March1 09st rally in DC?
Why has IV not taken a pragmatic approach, don't take me wrong I respect what you have done and other approaches in the past. But IV is using same approach for a new problem, the end result-----Failure
I joined this community after july fiasco, and have kept close watch on dates, everyday members keep suggesting something or the other. I don't mind being a donor to IV or contributing little what I have, But I need to see some big movement and results.
I did all the stupid calling to congress senators
Did sending of letters to the White house
what was the result? If IV wants core members and new members to donate and be a part of something bigger than a website, then please initiate something big like a rally.
Just because their are less members to join, does not excuse a true purpose of a rally.
Some of core members of IV keep telling other members:
1. Join your local chapter
2. Be a donor,
I understand all this, but I as a visiting members and the people coming on here, want to see a true and real reason to be a part of IV and not just a website where immigrants come and breathe out their frusturations July Fiasco turned to be advantageous to a few members, but was a mistake for members like me and other members who could not file at that time.
Please prove me wrong and IV to be something more than a website, please initiate something big and real, and not just comments. I an aware of the achievements in the past, but it was past 3 years ago. For last three years immigrant's feelings have been played around too many times. Same old talks will not bring upon a change, SOMETHING BIG NEEDS TO BE DONE NOW BEFORE THE CIR BILL takes place. So people are more aware.
Show us IV core is more than words! Conduct something bigger that will attract new members and donors to this organization.
I as a professional can tell you all now--- passive movement, sending letters, long term planning with no actions will not help
People have left IV, who are so disheartened and believe this organization has lost its eedge and is all talk and no walk above all a money scam.
Prove them wrong and do something big, above all Practical

We all are aware of the phenomenal progress that IV has achieved in just 3 months. Like any grassroots organization our success is dependent on the wholehearted support we get from our members.
The road is long and hard. I am sure all our hard work is going to pay off. This is not the time to get impatient or frustrated. Remember we are all in this together. Let's be patient and wait for things to unfold.

Trust me my friend, I have seen it happen all the time, from large Telecom firm to Govt., its always there, most of the consultants just doesn't come to know about it, but the cut for the managers is there in some form, almost always. Why do each manager has a specific vendor through whom they want to hire most of the time? What else is the reason for the client to pay the consulting company $180/hr but they won't give 'valueablehurdle' anything more than $50-60/hr?
On a different note, now that NSG approved the waiver, most desi uncles, some of them are also owners of desi consulting companies will claim that they are the father of Nuclear deal. These bastards (sorry for my french) always oppose any GC fix and they tell their favorite congressman/senator (each has atleast one favorite politician for whom they do fund raisers) that gc backlog is not an important issue for the community. India Abroad, Times of India, rediff and other desi portals/newspapers will write 'Oliver North' style stories about these desi uncles knowing well that companies like GE etc put their weight behind the deal as it will create commerce to commerce over $20 billion/yr. But desi uncles/orgs will not stop claiming to be the father of nuclear deal. The fact is, most of these desi uncles made noise not because they wanted to do something for their country of birth, they are doing it because they think that if the nuclear deal passes, they can play middle man for US companies to sell the technology/material to Indian companies/govt. Most of the so called 'united voice of Indian-Americans on the Hill' organization's goal is to make big bucks by playing 'middle man' for companies wanting to sell technology to India. And as always, just as 'valuablehurdle''s client (paying $180/hr) Indian govt. will pay double the cost. These desi companies have squeezed blood of people waiting for gc, but now they think its time to move on to play big game with the big boys. These desi uncles/orgs are going nuclear.... time for Rediff and India Abroad to play Oliver North. Sometimes the line between capitalism and cycle of corruption is extremely blur. The problem is, these desi uncles/orgs claim to be representatives of entire Indian-American community, sometimes the entire immigrant community. What will students get out of it? Their Green cards are not stuck? Are you offering them H1B visa that they desperately want? They do not care about Green cards. They only care for scholarship, a job after graduation and H1B sponsorship from the employer. You are offering nothing from this list.

I am trying to take at least a day off from work. I would lose money from my wages if I take day off but I am ready to lose money for the sake of doing something good for myself and family. Others who are sitting on their armchairs should also consider coming to DC if they want their greencards.

However, students who have just started off with their studies here and have 2-3 years before graduation can definitely gain a lot if the CIR is passed. Also, a lot of these student organizations have the contact details of their past members, members who are now working mostly in the US and these organizations can contact those members requesting them to join in this advocacy.

Like RAgz4u said, with a tight rope walk, it will be extremely difficult to get our amendments to pass.
Without that, even if the bill pasess and lets 12 million undocumented
folks get in the line, it is drastically going to clog USCIS which
may screw us up badly.
So what good is the CIR if our amendments dont get in ? Seriously....
